Bred Beyond Standard
Health Guarantee & Ethical Breeding
Our commitment to the health, temperament, and longevity of every Hidden Legacy French Bulldog — backed by rigorous veterinary screening and transparent standards.
Our Promise
The Hidden Legacy Health Guarantee
Two-Year Genetic Health Guarantee
Every Hidden Legacy Kennels puppy is accompanied by a written health guarantee covering hereditary genetic conditions for 24 months from the date of purchase.
Veterinary-Examined Before Placement
No puppy leaves our care without a complete wellness examination by a licensed veterinarian, a clean bill of health, and up-to-date vaccinations and deworming.
Parent-Verified Genetic Clearances
Both dam and sire undergo comprehensive DNA genetic testing before entering our breeding program, ensuring hereditary disease markers are identified and avoided.
Lifetime Breeder Support
Our commitment does not end at pickup. We provide lifetime guidance on nutrition, behavior, health, and the unique needs of the French Bulldog breed.
Our Practices
Ethical Breeding Standards
- We breed exclusively to the AKC French Bulldog standard — no compromise on structure, temperament, or type.
- Our dogs live in our home as family members, never in outdoor kennels or commercial facilities.
- We limit breeding frequency, allowing dams adequate recovery between litters and retiring them at an appropriate age.
- Every breeding pair is selected through genetic compatibility analysis to minimize hereditary disease risk.
- We will never place a puppy before eight weeks of age, ensuring proper socialization and maternal development.
- All puppies are microchipped and registered with AKC prior to placement.
- We maintain transparent, honest communication with every family throughout the life of their dog.
- If a family can no longer care for their Hidden Legacy dog, we will always take them back — no questions asked.
Veterinary Protocols
Our Screening Protocols
Every dog in our breeding program undergoes the following veterinary screenings. Documentation is available to prospective families upon request and accompanies each puppy at placement.
Comprehensive DNA Genetic Panel
Full breed-specific genetic health panel screening for Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Hyperuricosuria (HUU), Juvenile Hereditary Cataract (JHC), Cystinuria, and other known Frenchie markers.
OFA Cardiac Evaluation
Auscultation by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist to screen for congenital heart defects including pulmonic stenosis and other valve conditions prevalent in the breed.
OFA Patellar Luxation Grading
Orthopedic evaluation of patellar stability to screen for luxating patellas, a common orthopedic concern in compact breeds like the French Bulldog.
BAER Hearing Test
Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response testing to confirm bilateral hearing and identify any unilateral deafness, a known risk in predominantly white-coated Frenchies.
CERF Ophthalmologic Exam
Comprehensive eye examination by a veterinary ophthalmologist to screen for hereditary eye conditions including cataracts, cherry eye, and corneal ulcers.
Brachycephalic Airway Assessment
Evaluation of soft palate, nares, and tracheal diameter to assess airway health — a critical screening for the French Bulldog given their flat-faced structure.
Hip & Spine Imaging
Radiographic evaluation of hip joints and vertebral column to screen for hip dysplasia and hemivertebrae, conditions the breed is predisposed to.
Vaccination & Deworming Protocol
Structured schedule of DHPP, bordetella, leptospirosis, and rabies vaccinations, plus five rounds of deworming, all documented and provided at placement.
